The author has created a world that seems just like ours, with one big difference - dragons. Dragons have been attracted to humans' carbon emissions from campfires in the old days to cars in modern times. This world history includes people and events from ours, with the addition of dragons, dragon slayers and dragon guilds. The story follows the partnership of an apprentice slayer Owen, and musically-gifted Siobhan, who is learning how to be his bard.
Even if you don't think you like dragon fantasy, give this book a try. The teens act like teens, the plot has drama, mystery, adventure and a very exciting ending.
